Marsh Elementary

This space will be a safe and creative environment for children to learn. This will be a supportive atmosphere, where children will be encouraged to reach their maximum potential. All children are different, and therefore each will learn differently than their neighbor. This is an idea that will be both recognized and appreciated.
The location of this school is Savannah, Georgia which is full of history. The whole town is a historical place, therefore this will be implemented into the school, as well as into the educational programs. History is a major part of our everyday life and in this space, history will be taught in a way that gives children the opportunity to love and appreciate it for how it has shaped our daily lives.

The  Library at Marshpoint Elementary School, is a great place for students to learn in a safe, fun and carefully thought out environment. As a group students have broken into teams to make this vision come to life, Logan Webster worked together. Study pods  create semi-private, focused work areas inside a larger space. There are many options for eager readers to explore both the fiction and nonfiction options. High-backed lounge seating can create a singular focused space or be grouped together to create a small-group space within a larger open area. There is also a texture wall paneling that will be an acoustic barrier and great focal wall. The floor pattern also as noise canceling properties and is a distinct feature that is only in the library. Power demands continue to increase across the board and are an important design consideration so in this area we installed power outlets on the toe kick. Reception desk that ties back into the nature built in the name of sustainability, this custom desk is made from natural materials and incorporates planters.

Bienstock Design

Situated on 1,200 acres high in the northeast Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania is the location for a new sleepover camp activity center. The campus is surrounded by a preserved forested landscape and overlooks picturesque streams, a private lake and miles of enchanting mountain vistas. The new-construction facility will house an open and friendly activity center with dynamic programming for co-ed campers ages 8 – 14, and specializing in activities for 30 traditional and special-needs campers. We have been assigned to to design a barrier-free facility for special needs campers, that will contain a nurses’ station, restrooms, storage area, stage with prop room, and an open activity area with removable tables and chairs.

In an ode to the powerful spirit of Allegheny National Forest and its lush and dense environment, reminiscent of a rainforest, Camp Allegheny will embody the unique variety of an organic jungle form. Campers will be engulfed in a jungled themed environment, where rich woods and vibrant colors take the forefront of the design. Camp Allegany will be an oasis for both campers and camp supervisors. The biophilic design will reduce stress, improve cognitive function and creativity, which in turn boosts both the campers moral and offers an inviting and welcoming space for fun activities.

Daily Dose Bar

For this assignment we were asked to design a food-service space, a client custom logo, as well as a floor plan for existing building. The clients wanted a hip and exciting cafe for professional clients in Brooklyn, Ny. Both care a lot about the environment and would like to have all sustainable materials in their business. Their commitment to sustainability can be seen in all aspects of their cafe/bar, which uses natural, biodegradable cleaning products, from their dishwashing soap to their workstation sanitizer and oven cleaner. Most of these products are purchased from a local company.  This is also one of the first cafe/bar in the area to use recycled paper bags which are made from 52% recycled content. Most of the commercial furniture pieces are resourced from U.S. Green Building Council® & LEED companies.

For this project we have been asked to design a commercial sweet shop for chef partners Scott and Anna who met in culinary school and have worked the past 10 years in various bakeries. Recently they have bought a two story commercial property located in the heart of downtown Brooklyn. Daily Dose specializes in providing gourmet coffees, and doubles as a wine bar at night. They offer a wide variety of cuisines to cater to the most distinguished guest. An open concept floor plan with private seating is a place to engage in intimate conversation and indulge in the decadence of the design while enjoying a glass of wine. This design bounces both modern industrial and rustic design.
