This week I had the pleasure of meeting Ethan and Callie Sullivan who have asked me to design their home. Their home is a new build, with a contemporary styled exterior located within an up and coming area near Asheville, North Carolina.
The overall feel of this home is organic modern with bohemian touches. Organic modern style features clean open rooms with natural elements, texture, and very little clutter. The Sullivan’s want their home to be comfortable and inviting while they are home relaxing together as a family; while also being an appropriate atmosphere for entertaining guest.
The Sullivan’s love being outdoors and surrounded by nature, so we will be incorporate as many natural materials as possible to bring nature indoors to add warmth and an organic touch.
I have the challenge of balancing modern lines with natural forms and materials. I will be incorporating wood, fur, and woven jute, and organic accents, succulents, pottery, all blending together to create a fresh, welcoming and calming space.
